The Embassy of the Republic of Slovenia in London is the official representative body of the Slovene Government in the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland as well as Ireland. It was opened in 1992.

The Embassy promotes close bilateral political, economic and cultural relations between Slovenia and the UK, offers consular assistance to Slovenian citizens in the UK and provides information on Slovenia to the citizens of the UK and Ireland.

Other Slovene consular missions in the UK were opened in Edinburgh and Belfast. In 2012 the Embassy of Slovenia in Dublin was closed by the Government of the Republic of Slovenia due to economic crisis. Based on the consent of the Irish Government, diplomatic representation of Slovenia for Ireland was assumed by the Slovenian Embassy in London in November 2012.

Cultural cooperation

The Agreement between the Government of the Republic of Slovenia and the Government of the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland on Co-operation in the Fields of Education, Culture and Science was signed in 1994.

In 2008 the apartment in London was set up as a part of Arts & Culture Residencies Programme for Slovene artists, writers, translators, curators, critics or producers who are selected via an annual open call of the Ministry of Culture. The Slovene Arts & Culture Residency, London is managed by the Embassy of the Republic of Slovenia London.

The Embassy of the Republic of Slovenia in London participates in organisation of a range of cultural events.
